GEMOC Press has been set up as a vehicle to publish " Neoproterozoic and Phanerozoic Earth History of Australia" edited by John Veevers, Malcolm Walter and Erwin Scheibner.

GEMOC fosters industrial links and encourages industry colleagues to spend time at GEMOC undertaking collaborative research projects and development of technology and/or applications. In 1997, Macquarie hosted nine such visitors with ongoing formal collaboration (see Appendix 3).

GEMOC promotes joint development of technology hardware, methodology and software in collaboration with industry end-users. The Macquarie GEMOC Geochemical Analysis Unit has been designated a Perkin-Elmer development and showcase site and the international Alpha Test Site for Merchantek EO lasers. Other collaborative industry ventures include:

DIAKIM interactive computerised database containing information on all known diamond-related deposits, initiated through collaboration with Dr Bram Janse:

Bruce Chappell (ANU) has made his extensive database (on granites and related rocks and minerals) available for relevant projects within GEMOC

Advice from Board Members, Drs Lees and Wyborn, on database structure, management and GIS applications is being implemented
