GEMOC's research programs are interdisciplinary and integrated, utilising the technologically advanced facilities of the Key Centre and the Division of Environmental & Life Sciences.
The research programs focus on:
- Understanding the location of different types of metallogenic provinces by understanding the links between:
- mantle processes
- crustal generation
- large-scale tectonics
- heat and fluid transport
- An interdisciplinary and integrated approach, linking:
- petrology and geochemistry (including fluid/vapour studies)
- geophysics (mantle and global scales)
- tectonics (mantle-crust links)
- time
to interpret the lithosphere as a 4-dimensional system.
Postdoctoral Research Fellowships are available both through the University and the Australian Government. The closing dates are different for each scheme, so please check the details provided in the linked information. Please contact GEMOC well before the closing date so that we can discuss a program of research and assist you with your application.
The following fellowships are available:
- Macquarie University Research Fellowships Scheme
- ARC Research Fellowships Scheme
