SUBMISSION
Manuscripts are to be sent to the Editor. Three copies of the typescript are required. Double space title, abstract, text, references and figure captions. Leave wide margins; number all pages.
Submit the originals and three copies of all illustrations, the latter at the size they will eventually be printed. Send a letter of transmittal giving the names and addresses of the author(s), the title of the paper and a one or two sentence statement of its main points. Also include the names and addresses of two persons outside the author's institution who could act as referees.
Pack all illustrations carefully and send all material by registered or insured mail.
Final, revised manuscripts must be submitted on IBM-formatted 3.5" diskettes as both a word-processing and a text file. This should be accompanied by a paper copy.
FORMAT
Papers are to be written in concise English and should be illustrated. Manuscripts are to be organised as follows:

![]() | full reference to the paper, leaving space for the printer's additions. |
![]() | a short abstract describing the results of the work. |

![]() | the main text; capitalise the first word of the first paragraph; do not use the heading 'Introduction'; begin other sections with not more than three grades of heading as follows:

![]() | references should conform to the examples below; give the full title of the publication; do not use abbreviations; transliterate Russian titles using the system adopted by the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology; list the original language in brackets after translated or transliterated titles. |

ILLUSTRATIONS
Line drawings in black or high quality medium contrast glossy photographs mounted on white or black backgrounds (preferable white) are required. They should be grouped into Figures (arabic numerals) of one or two column width (68mm or 140mm). Attempt to restrict each figure to one theme and to group photographs of similar tone. Line drawings may be combined with photographs if required. The items of composite figures should be designated A, B, C etc (not a, b, c); self adhesive printed lettering is preferred. The Memoirs will not print foldouts and extending diagrams over more than one page is discouraged. Tables may be typeset, but preferably should be drafted at one or two column width (68mm or 140mm)and must be on a separate sheet; Italic typeface, not underlining, must be used for italicised words

CONTRACT
The submission of a paper to the Memoirs will be regarded as a contract with the Association that the paper or a substantially similar one has not been submitted for publication elsewhere, nor will be, pending acceptance by the Memoirs. Upon publication, the paper and the copyright thereof become the property of the Association unless reserved by the Crown. Requests to reproduce material from the Memoirs should be directed to the Editor.
