The
unit offers an introduction
to the concepts,
techniques and issues
in contemporary Resource
and Environmental
Management. The unit
draws largely on
Australian examples
and addresses processes
at a range of geographical
scales. The unit
discusses
the nature of resources
and outlines changing
perceptions and philosophies
of resource use.
It examines biophysical,
economic, social,
cultural and political
processes and relationships
underlying resource
use and environmental
sustainability.
Principles
and problems are
illustrated with case
studies of resource
management and environmental
decision-making.
The tutorial/workshop
program examines
these further and
requires a range of
skills including
data analysis, problem-solving,
presentations and
role plays. |
