REM Program

The REM coherency can be taken as part of either a BSc, BA or BA LLB or BSc LLB degree.

It involves a core program at 100-level (GEOS118 Global Environmental Futures), 200-level (GEOS267 Introduction to Resource and Environmental Management) and 300-level (GEOS321 Resource Management, GEOS328 Environmental Management).

In addition, you can choose from a wide range of supplementary courses emphasising bio-physical, social, political and legal aspects of this rapidly expanding field.

Students should use the REM coherency to supplement in-depth coherent studies in their preferred discipline area. This will provide a strong background in a specific field for employment, and add to it interdisciplinary skills and perspectivies relevant to a wide range of jobs and activities.

Suitable areas of study include geomorphology, atmospheric sciences, economic geography, social and cultural geography, population and medical geography, demography, soil studies, biology, ecology, Aboriginal studies and environmental law, economics or politics.

Please contact either Human Geography or Physical Geography for advice and more information about the course.
