The nature and origin of depletion in arc rocks, timescales and mechanisms of melt transport and differentiation in a currently active volcanic arc system (Tonga Arc), the role of volatiles in explosive mafic-intermediate volcanism, understanding caldera forming eruptions and their deposits- triggers, dynamics and emplacement.
