The Department

 

Disciplines within the Department include geology, geophysics, palaeontology, palaeobiology, geochemistry, environmental geology and marine science.

The Department's staff are located in Buildings E7A, E5A and E5B. Teaching and research laboratories are located on the ground floor of E5B, on all floors of E5A, as well as on floors 4 and 5 of E7A.

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences welcomes enquiries from prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students. Earth and Planetary Sciences studies at Macquarie can be integrated with other disciplines, leading to many specialisations. The Department has excellent research facilities; hosts a number of research centres and has a high research profile and is thus able to offer prospective postgraduate students an excellent environment for research.
