Your Sabbatical in Human Geography at Macquarie

statue

Macquarie University's convenient location in Sydney's rapidly-growing high-tech industry corridor, with good connections to all aspects of the global city, as well as access to accommodation, transport and services make it a great base for researchers visiting Australia.

The Department of Human Geography welcomes visitors who are interested in spending a period of sabbatical leave in the Department. As part of a lively international community in the discipline, the Department is able to host short term or longer-term visits with access to basic facilities and services and a place in our community.

Contributions to the Human Geography Seminar Series or guest lectures in our teaching program are welcomed from visitors, but not obligatory.

The Department has special arrangements for staff from some institutions (Queen Mary University of London, Stockholm Environmental Institute, University of Arizona) where staff exchange or research agreements are in place, but we are happy to consider requests for hosting from colleagues in any university as well as geographical educators, industry personnel and public servants who feel a period of study or research with us would benefit a sabbatical leave program.

Enquiries about sabbatical or other visits to the Department can be directed to the Head of Department or Executive Officer:
