Meg Sherval teaches in the fields of Economic geography and Resource geography. Her research is focused on transitional economies such as China and Russia with an emphasis on how political and economic transition effects development. Her other main interests involve resource development through mining and oil/gas production particularly in remote resource economies of the Pacific Rim. Upcoming research will be focusing on perceptions of mining and the social, economic, environmental and health impacts effecting regional economies.
