Some Basic Information About Honours in the Discipline of Environmental Science

You need to complete GEOS862 and information about this unit can be accessed here. On these pages you will find information regarding the requirements of the unit.

Other requirements: You must submit a complete draft of your thesis to your supervisor one month before the end of your candidature. This enables your supervisor to spot problems and discuss them in time for you to do make amendments if required.

You are also required to provide to the Department an electronic copy of your thesis abstract.

Three unbound copies of the thesis should be submitted to the Head of Environmental Science by 4.00 pm on the Monday of the last week of classes of the relevant semester. The thesis must be no more than 15 000 words (10 000 for a minor dissertation), excluding references, essential appendices and notes. Over length material may not be examined.

The current Honours Coordinator is Dr Kirstie Fryirs (Room E7A 629, Phone 9850 8367, E-mail: kfryirs@els.mq.edu.au). If you have any trouble getting in touch with Kirstie, please leave a message with the Executive Officer, Environmental Science in Room E7A 617, Phone 9850 8426, E-mail: pg_admin@els.mq.edu.au.
