Choosing a Project and Contacting a Supervisor
To apply for entry to one of our research programs, you will need to have a supervisor within the Department whose own research area is relevant to the research you want to pursue. Academic staff in the Department are actively involved in undergraduate teaching, postgraduate teaching, postgraduate research supervision and staff research projects in:
- atmospheric science
- geomorphology and pedology
- resource and environmental management
Some major research thrusts at present are in the fields of natural hazards, climatic impacts on environment and society, air pollution, climate modelling and boundary layer and applied meteorology.
Have a look at the Research page and the Faculty's Research Groups and Expertise listings to identify our research areas and associated staff. Please feel free to contact staff members to discuss their research areas and how they could be integrated into your research plans. Prospective research students are then advised to contact the Department's Administrative Officer before a formal application is made.
