My background is in Atmospheric Science and Satellite Oceanography. Most of my undergraduate teaching focuses on meteorology and climatology.

My research interests lie in interannual to decadal scale processes which drive the ocean, in particular, in the mid-latitudes of the South Pacific. Consequently, my work touches on El Nino-South Oscillation, variability in the South Pacific subtropical gyre and planetary wave propagation. These phenomena have important consequences for regional through to global climate variability at decadal timescales.
I examine satellite data, in situ meaurements and model results to understand these processes.

I am currently Vice-Chair of the Sydney Chapter of the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS).
