Coursework Degrees
Coursework constitutes the whole or a major part of the Master of Science and Master of Geoscience, with programs derived from the 800-level GEOS units together with the 400-level GEOS units or other units approved by the Division. The availability of these units is dependent on demand or may only be offered in alternate years. Study can be full or part time.
- Master of Science (Geology, Palaeobiology)
Admission requirements: a Bachelor degree with relevant undergraduate studies
Minimum program: 46 postgraduate credit points
This course has an 8-12 unit selection which may be drawn from the general postgraduate offerings but should exhibit coherency. A special program is designed for science graduates involved in secondary teaching.

- Master of Geoscience (Mining, Geophysics)
Admission requirements: a Bachelor degree with relevant undergraduate studies
Minimum program: 32 postgraduate credit points
This course is designed to permit individually tailored programs and has a professional orientation.

- Master of Mineral Exploration Technologies (Geophysics)
Admission requirements: a Bachelor degree or approved equivalent tertiary qualification in geophysics, mathematics, physics, engineering or geology. Bridging courses are available if required.
Minimum program: 32 postgraduate credit points
The program is unique in its range and depth, which is unmatched both nationally and internationally. The Division offers the degree in conjunction with the Department of Exploration Geophysics at Curtin University as part of the newly established Commonwealth Co-operative Research Centre in Australian Mineral Exploration Technologies (CRCAMET).

- Postgraduate Diploma in Geoscience
Admission requirements: exit qualification only
Minimum program: 23 postgraduate credit points
There is no direct entry to the course. Award is made upon the completion of 23/24 postgraduate credit points which for part of the postgraduate Master of Geoscience or Science course. It is intended for persons unable to complete a full coursework Masters program who wish to gain recognition for their partially completed work.
