Research and Coursework Degrees
Within the Division, a geology, geophysics and mining staff of 20 is actively involvedin undergraduate teaching, postgraduate coursework, postgraduate research, supervision, and staff research projects. In addition to their involvement in programs within the Division, some of these staff are involvved in interdisciplinary programs, including environmental science. Within the Geology, Mining and Geophysics areas there are several Centres for Research Excellence:
The Division has many links to industry, and other research organisations and Universities. Through the Sydney Universities Consortium of Geology and Geophysics (SUCOGG), there are strong links with each of the other Geology and Geophysics Departments in Sydney (University of Technology, Sydney, Univesity of New South Wales and the University of Sydney) and the ARC/University Consortium in partnership with CSIRO provides isotope research facilities through the Centre for Isotope Research.
