Module Name: Interpretation of Seismic Refraction Data

Module Objectives: Development of intermediate to advanced skills in the interpretation of seismic refraction data, for geotechnical, groundwater, environmental, and statics applications.

Module program: Revision of fundamentals, the GRM, model based inversion, resolving ambiguities, amplitude effects, anisotropy, errors, acquisition parameters.

Format, duration and timing: Tutorial exercises with brief explanatory lectures. Distance education mode only in 2004. TBA

Assumed Knowledge: Elementary refraction, intercept time method, conventional reciprocal method
